Charles Alan Tribble, age 82, of Greensburg, formerly of Erie, passed away peacefully Friday, January 13, 2017 in Latrobe.  He was born in Erie on February 23, 1934, a son of the late Charles A. and Kathryn L. (Amann) Tribble.  Charlies was a spring 1952 graduate of Strong Vincent High School in Erie.  He married Nancy Louise Sands on August 7, 1956.  He served in the US Army from 1956 to 1958, was stationed at Fr. Monmouth, New Jersey, and served as a Radio Instructor during his time there.  After serving in the Army, he was employed by the Federal Aviation Administration at Erie International Airport working as an Electronics Technician.  He retired from the FAA in 1994 and enjoyed his retirement and his hobby of working with all things electronic, and was always willing to lend a hand to a friend in need.  He was a member of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church prior to moving to Greensburg.  Charlie was an ongoing fan and supporter of the musical organizations in which his children participated during their youth.  Among them were the Strong Vincent High School Band, Erie Mavericks Jr. Drum & Bugle Corps, Erie Philharmonic Youth Orchestra and the Indiana University of Pennsylvania Marching Band.  Mr. Tribble was predeceased by his parents; his wife, Nancy; his brother, Douglas Tribble; and his daughter, Kimberly Ann Tribble.  He is survived by his son, Stephen (wife Gail, children Michael and Alexandra Kania) of Greensburg; and his daughter, Karen Sheldon (husband Roger) of Littleton, Massachusetts.  He is also survived by his grandson, Andrew C. Sheldon of Littleton.  Friends will be received from 3 to 5 PM Sunday at the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 516 Stanton Street, Greensburg.  A funeral service will be held at Duskas-Martin Funeral Home in Erie at 12 Noon Tuesday.  Private interment will follow.  The family wishes to thank the staffs at Brookdale Senior Living, Latrobe and Grane Hospice for their care and compassion.  Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice in Charles’ name.  www.bachafh.com
