James E. Kiser, 86, of Hempfield Township, died Friday, June 17, 2016 at Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg.  He was born October 5, 1929 in Derry, a son of the late Leroy and Cora (Butler) Kiser.  Jim was a veteran of the US Marine Corps and prior to retirement was a truck driver for Overly Manufacturing.  He was a charter member and past fire chief of West Point Volunteer Fire Department, member and past president of both the Westmoreland County Firemen’s Association and Fire Chief’s Association of Westmoreland County and member of the Mohawks.  He was also a 50 year member of Latrobe American Legion Post #515, was a member of the Marine Corps League where he was awarded the four chaplains memorial, and had volunteered at Tri-City Meals on Wheels.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother:  Donald Kiser.  He is survived by his wife:  Patricia D. (Kendra) Kiser; 2 daughters:  Paula K. Howard and husband James of Lincoln, RI and Victoria L. Brooks and husband Wilson B. of Albuquerque, NM; and 2 grandsons:  James D. and Daniel M. Howard.  Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM Monday at the Leo M. Bacha Funeral Home, Inc., 2072 Route 130, Pleasant Unity, where a funeral liturgy will be held at 12 Noon Tuesday with The Rev. Robert R. Byrnes officiating.  Interment will follow in Unity Cemetery, Unity Township.  The Latrobe Derry Veterans Honor Guard will conduct military honors just prior to the service.
