James L. Todaro, 79, of South Greensburg, died Wednesday, July 20, 2016 in Westmoreland Manor.  He was born July 23, 1936 in Greensburg, a son of the late Michael and Freda (Bookler) Todaro.  Prior to retirement he had been the owner and operator of Clips Barber Shop in Silver Spring, Maryland.  He was a member of St. Bruno Catholic Church, South Greensburg, an Army veteran, a graduate of Greensburg High School and had attended St. Vincent College.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by 3 brothers: Anthony Todaro and his wife Clair, Col. Michael Todaro and Alfred Todaro; 2 sisters: Grace Gasparato and her husband Dominic and Marie Todaro.  He is survived by 2 sons: Michael V. Todaro of Peekskill, New York, James “Jay” Todaro, Jr. of Baltimore, Maryland; 2 daughters: Jaime L. Todaro of Rockville, Maryland and Jennifer Stevenson of Olney, Maryland; 6 grandchildren; a brother: Jerome Todaro of South Greensburg; a sister: Jennie L. Todaro of South Greensburg; a sister-in-law: Joan Todaro of Goldsboro, North Carolina; and 19 nieces and nephews.  Friends will be received from 9 to 10 AM Saturday at St. Bruno Catholic Church, South Greensburg where prayers will begin at 9:40 AM, followed by a funeral mass to be celebrated at 10 AM in the church.  Interment will follow in Greensburg Catholic Cemetery with full military honors accorded by the American Legion Post 981 Honor Guard.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Mutual Aid Ambulance Service, P.O. Box 350, Greensburg, PA 15601.
