Pearle L. Shaffer, 88, of Kecksburg, died Sunday, May 1, 2016 at Amber House Personal Care Center, Mt. Pleasant.  She was born May 28, 1927 in Mount Braddock, a daughter of the late Walter I. and Margaret (Scott) Martin.  Prior to retirement she was employed by Citizens Telephone Company and was a member of First Church of God, Latrobe.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband: Wayne E. Shaffer, Sr.; 3 brothers: William, James and Walter “Skip” Martin, Jr.; 2 sisters: Beverly Greenblatt and Audrey Rebish.  She is survived by her son: Wayne E. Shaffer, Jr. and his wife Theresa of Mt. Pleasant Township; 2 grandsons: E. Scott Shaffer and his wife Carrie of Latrobe and Jonathan M. Shaffer and his wife Leah of Hagerstown, MD; 6 great-grandchildren: Jacob, Malorie, Ethan, Michael, Claire and Owen; a brother-in-law: Stewart Shaffer and his wife Joann of Laurelville; and numerous nieces and nephews.  Friends will be received from 4 to 8 PM Thursday at the Leo M. Bacha Funeral Home, Inc., 2072 Route 130, Pleasant Unity, where funeral services will be held at 10 AM Friday with Pastor Michael J. Bobula officiating.  Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant Township.  Memorial contributions may be made to First Church of God: 616 Princeton St., Latrobe, PA 15650.  The family would like to thank the 2nd floor nursing staff at Amber House for their loving and compassionate care.
