Samuel E. Shaffer, Jr., 87, of Greensburg, died Wednesday, December 6, 2017 in Hempfield Manor, Greensburg.  He was born August 1, 1930 in Greensburg, a son of the late Samuel E. Shaffer, Sr. and Nora (Bowman) Shaffer-Graff.  Prior to retirement he had been a draftsman for A.B.B., Inc.  He was a member of St. Paul Parish, Greensburg where he served as an usher for many years.  Sam was an Army Veteran serving in the Korean War.  He was past Commander of the American Legion Post #981, South Greensburg and past President of Electrical Workers Union Local 626.  Sam was a member of Knights of Columbus #1480, Loyal Order of Moose #1151, Amvets Post #88, A & B Club, Youngwood and Roosevelt Club, South Greensburg.  Sam also volunteered for the Greater Greensburg Industrial Credit Union.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters, Marjorie Shaffer and Dolores “Cissie” Geier and husband David L., and his son-in-law, Bill Goldsborough.  He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Teresa D. (Musingo) Shaffer; his children, Sandee “Miss Sandee” (Jim) Farrell, Vonnie Goldsborough (Greg Long), all of Greensburg, Alan (Carol) Shaffer of Florida, and Mark (Jeanne) Shaffer of Greensburg; six grandchildren, Wes, T.J., Mack, Jillian, Jacob and Samuel; his great-grandson, Jensen; the Geier family nieces and nephew; and many cousins and friends.  Prayers will begin at 9:30 AM Friday, December 15, 2017 in the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 516 Stanton Street, Greensburg, followed by a funeral mass to be celebrated at 10 AM in St. Paul Parish, Greensburg.  Full Military Honors will be accorded after mass by the American Legion Post #981, South Greensburg.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Queen of Angels Catholic School, 1 Main St., North Huntingdon, PA 15642 or Westmoreland Cultural Trust, 102 N.
