Elizabeth "Betty" A. (Macko) Elder

Elizabeth A. “Betty” Elder, 80, of Morgantown, WV, formerly of Greensburg, died Monday, June 25, 2018 in J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, WV.  She was born April 20, 1938 in Greensburg, a daughter of the late George P. and Emma M. (DePasquale) Macko.  Prior to retirement she had been a registered nurse, working at Jeannette Hospital, West Virginia University Hospital, and Health South Rehabilitation Center, Morgantown, WV.  She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Morgantown, WV and was a former member of St. Paul Parish, Greensburg.  Betty was a graduate of Greensburg High School, West Virginia University and the Latrobe Hospital School of Nursing.  She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America, Purple Pansy Red Hats, Monongalia County Historical Society and the Westside Senior Citizens Center.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, James C. Elder in 2009; and her sister-in-law, Judith C. Macko.  She is survived by her brother, George E. Macko, of Palm Coast, FL; her sister, Joann M. Dreistadt, of Bolingbrook, IL; two nieces, Kristi Bloedorn (Scott), of Naperville, IL, and Ann Oswalt (David), of Robinson, IL; three great-nephews, Bailey and Brandon Bloedorn, and Jason Oswalt; her step-son, James C. Elder, Jr., of Murrysville; her step-daughter, Deanna Purcell (William), of Export; and four step-grandchildren, Ashley, Christopher, Lucas and Joshua.  Friends will be received from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM Friday at the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 516 Stanton Street, Greensburg.  Prayers will begin at 12:30 PM Friday in the funeral home, followed by a funeral mass to be celebrated at 1:00 PM in St. Paul Parish, Greensburg.  Private entombment will be in St. Clair Cemetery Mausoleum.  www.bachafh.com
