George P. Yokopenic, Jr.

George P. Yokopenic Jr., 79, of Unity Township, died Thursday, Nov. 15, 2018, at St. Anne Home, Greensburg. He was born Aug. 26, 1939, in Greensburg, a son of the late George P. Sr. and Josephine (Ulishney) Yokopenic. Prior to retirement, he worked at PPG Industries, S. Greensburg. He was a member of St. Vincent Basilica Parish, Latrobe. George was a passionate golfer, enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and also enjoyed the Thursday evening dinners with his siblings. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Esther R. "Betsy" (Wolfe) Yokopenic; an infant daughter, Susan Marie; a brother-in-law, John Guarino Sr.; and a sister-in-law, Janet Yokopenic. He is survived by four sons, Jeffrey and wife, Jennifer, of Niles, Ill., Craig and wife, Julie, of Lake Elmo, Minn., Andrew and wife, Annette, of Waynesboro, and Mark and wife, Gwen, of Latrobe; five grandchildren, Kevin Yokopenic, Rachel Wonderly, and Sydney, Emily and Maria Yokopenic; five brothers, Stephen and wife, Barbara, of Youngwood, Bernard and wife, Patricia, of Greensburg, Lawrence and wife, Wanda, Richard and James Yokopenic and wife, Nadine, all of Marguerite; two sisters, Patricia DeFloria, of Greensburg, and Barbara Guarino, of Marguerite; an aunt, Anna Ulishney, of Marguerite; and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME INC., 2072 Route 130, Pleasant Unity. Prayers will begin at 9:20 a.m. Tuesday in the funeral home followed by a funeral Mass to be celebrated at 10 a.m. in St. Vincent Basilica, Latrobe.
