Gloria "Dixie" Gale (Snyder) Bowman

Gloria Gale “Dixie” Bowman, 81, of Latrobe, passed away peacefully Sunday, August 5, 2018 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh surrounded by her loving family.  Dixie was born on November 2, 1936 in Whitney.  Dixie was a longtime member of the Latrobe United Methodist Church, as well as the Ladies Auxiliary.  She is remembered by her family as a loving, giving, feisty mother, grandmother and friend who will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Geraldine (Walters) Snyder; her husband of 48 years, Herbert H. Bowman on October 21, 2001; brothers, Joseph and Ronald Snyder; and her infant son.  She is survived by her children, Terri Gray, of Hubert, NC, and Roger Bowman, of Latrobe; her grandchildren, Joshua Davis, of Greensburg, and Tricia Whipkey and husband Bryan, of Mount Pleasant; and one great-grandson, Jacob Davis.  Family and friends will be received from 3 to 5 PM and 7 to 9 PM Wednesday at the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 2072 Route 130, Pleasant Unity.  A funeral service will begin at 10 AM Thursday in the funeral home with Pastor Tom Shrum officiating.  Interment will follow in St. John’s Middle Church Cemetery, Mt.
