James "Bert" B.V. Bringe

James B.V. “Bert” Bringe, 84, of Greensburg, died Tuesday, January 1, 2019 in his home.  He was born August 19, 1934 in New Kensington, a son of the late Ernest and Gertrude (Shannon) Bringe.  Prior to retirement he had been a manager for Verizon for 44 years.  He was a Marine Corps veteran serving in Korea after the Korean Conflict.  Bert was a member of St. Paul Parish, Greensburg, Bell Telephone Pioneers, Marine Corps League and the Marine Corps Association.  He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Janet Petrarca and husband Jack.  He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Teresa P. (Padula) Bringe; three sons, Eric Bringe (Vicki), of Ellicott City MD, Pete Bringe (Kimberly), and Kevin Bringe (Lisa), all of Greensburg; four daughters, Karen Gokay (Mike), of Bernville, Kathy Kutzner (Steve), of Greensburg, Johanna Cycak (Richard), of Cape Coral, Fla., and Melissa Cappella (Arthur), of Greensburg; 14 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; his sister, Patricia Sinatra (Charles), of Hilton Head Island, SC; and several nieces and nephews.  Honoring Bert’s wishes, there will be no public visitation.  Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial mass to be celebrated at 10 AM Saturday at St. Paul Parish, 820 Carbon Rd., Greensburg.  Please go directly to the church.  Interment will follow in Greensburg Catholic Cemetery.  LEO M.
