Thomas D. Shively Sr., 73, of Pleasant Unity, died Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2018, at his home. He was born July 10, 1945, in Greensburg, a son of the late John J. and Mary (Anderson) Shively. Prior to retirement, he worked 42 years for ABB in South Greensburg, then in Mt. Pleasant. Tom was a proud member of UE local No. 626 and member of Zion Lutheran Church, Greensburg. He enjoyed tinkering in his garage and garden, was a Civil War buff and loved his beloved Shelties, Max and Anya. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Donna Veshosky and her husband, Bob. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Carol S. (Bortz) Shively; three children, Thomas D. Shively Jr. and wife, Yvonne, of Acme, Leigh Ann Bane and husband, Jesse, of Fayetteville, W.Va., and James M. Shively and wife, Crystal, of Ligonier; five grandchildren, Stephen, Cassidy, Emily and Brielle Shively and A.J. Bane; three great-grandchildren, Makenna, Adalyn and Jaxon; his sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Tom Andrews, of Latrobe; and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME INC., 2072 Route 130, Pleasant Unity, where funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday with the Rev. Brian B. Chaffee officiating. Interment will follow in Twin Valley Memorial Park, Delmont. Memorial contributions may be made to Zion Lutheran Church, 140 S.
