Bartley D. Meikle, Sr., 75, of Greensburg, died Thursday, February 18, 2021 in Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg surrounded by loving family. He was born May 22, 1945 in North Charleroi, a son of the late Charles and Lura (Eisiminger) Meikle. Bart was a graduate of Charleroi Area High School. Prior to retirement he had been a power control purchaser for West Penn Power, later named Allegheny Energy. He was a member of St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church, Greensburg. He was an Army National Guard veteran and a member of the American Legion Post No. 28, Monessen. Bart was a Mon Valley umpire and coached little league football and baseball. He loved to play golf and watch his grandsons play sports. He is survived by his wife of almost 56 years, Betty Ann (Matinsky) Meikle; two sons, Bartley D. Jr. and wife Kelly, and Heath and wife Lisa; five grandsons, Bart III, Ben, Brandon, Joshua, and Justin; two brothers-in-law, Stanley Matinsky (Evie), and Steve Matinsky (Carol); sister-in-law, Dolores Hazy; several cousins, nieces, and nephews; and his very good friend, George “Corko” Hotochin. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM Sunday at the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 516 Stanton Street, Greensburg. Parastas will begin at 3:30 PM Sunday in the funeral home. A private funeral service will take place, followed by private entombment in St. Clair Cemetery Mausoleum, Greensburg with Full Military Honors accorded by the VFW Post No. 33, Greensburg Honor Guard.
