Ben Lonigro Obituary

Ben Lonigro, 93, of Greensburg, died Monday, September 26, 2022, in Mountain View Senior Living, Greensburg.  He was born September 22, 1929, in Wilmington, DE, a son of the late Frank and Nancy (Santi) Lonigro.  He was an Air Force veteran serving during the Korean War.  Prior to retirement he had worked as a manager for American General Life Insurance Company.  He was a member of Blessed Sacrament Cathedral, Greensburg.  Ben loved to go to church and had a deep love for God.  He was a kind and compassionate person who always had a kind word to say and would help anyone in need.  He enjoyed nature, especially bird watching.  He was a loving father and wonderful grandfather to his two granddaughters and four great-grandchildren.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Paul Lonigro.  He is survived by his loving daughter, Julie Morgan and husband George; two granddaughters, his “Ally Cat” Ally Shahan and Ashley Bucchioni; four great-grandchildren, Charley, Morgan, Turner, and Evey; his brother, Joe Lonigro; and his loving nieces and nephews, Francis, Lucy, Flo, Cynthia, Nancy, and Joseph.  Friends will be received from 6 to 8 PM Wednesday at the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 516 Stanton Street, Greensburg.  Prayers will begin at 9:00 AM Thursday in the funeral home, followed by a funeral mass to be celebrated at 9:30 AM in Blessed Sacrament Cathedral, Greensburg.  Entombment will follow in Greensburg Catholic Cemetery Mausoleum.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN  38105.  www.bachafh.com
