Dean Johnson Obituary

Dean Johnson, 67, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 14 at his home in Grapeville. Dean was born in Youngstown, Ohio and was the son of Ruth Eileen and Russ DeSena. A graduate of Hempfield High School and also attended La Roache College. He had retired from the Uniselect Warehouse in Turtle Creek. An avid outdoorsman, Dean loved spending time outside whenever possible, especially around a campfire. Dean also had a passion for the beach, spending his vacations in Clearwater off of Gulf to Bay Boulevard (his favorite street), enjoying the sun, ocean and deep-sea fishing while sharing stories with family and friends… and always making them laugh. Always disliking the cold, Dean spent his winters in Palm Harbor with his brother Randy, enjoying the nice weather, watching the Steelers and Pens, and creating unique artwork for his family. Dean is survived by his mother Ruth, brother, Randy L. Johnson and Connie, of Palm Harbor, Florida; sister, Karin K. Geisler and Phil, of Pittsburgh; nephews, Christopher L. Johnson, of Clearwater, Florida, Nicholas Dean Nagle and Amanda, of Monroeville; niece, Michelle H. Nagle, of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; and great nephew, Noah L. Nagle, of Monroeville. A private ceremony will be held Tuesday Jan 19th in Greensburg. He will greatly be missed, but we would like to think that he is in a better place, sitting beneath a palm tree with a glass of rum, gazing at the horizon.  LEO M.
