Joseph Harrison Ewing, age 78, of Southwest Greensburg, passed away on September 5, 2021, at UPMC Mercy in Pittsburgh. He was born May 1, 1943, in Linesville, PA to the late Harold R. and Mary Frances (Garwood) Ewing. Joseph was the beloved husband of his devoted wife, Virginia L. Ewing, for 54 years. Joseph's devotion and priority was to his family. In addition to his wife, Joseph is survived by three sons and a daughter, Jeffrey Ewing and his wife Rebecca, of North Huntingdon, Jared Ewing and his wife Kimberly, of Greensburg, Jeremy Ewing and his wife Karen, of Plum, and Jennifer Garman and her husband Adam, of Dover; and grandchildren, Dana, Jessica, Michael, Brady, Ryan, Caleb, Christopher and Julianne. Also surviving are Joseph’s sister, Frances Boulware, of Huntingdon Beach, CA; sister-in-law, Kathleen Stanton and husband Bob Richey, of Chapin, SC; a nephew, Todd Smith and his wife Ellen; niece Maureen Bosanko and her husband William; and niece Michelle Turanchick and her husband Curt. Joseph was a member of First Baptist Church of Greensburg where he served as Moderator for many years. After graduating from Grove City College, he worked for most of his career as a Marketing Representative for IBM. After retirement, he loved spending time with his family in any way possible. He particularly loved playing Trivial Pursuit, our family beach trips and attending his grandchildren’s school, dance and sports activities. He also enjoyed singing with the Irwin Male Chorus. Family and friends will be received from 4 to 8 PM Friday, September 10, 2021, at the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 516 Stanton Street, Greensburg. Additional visitation will be held from 10 to 11 AM Saturday, September 11, 2021, at First Baptist Church, 1228 Brinkerton Rd., Greensburg, PA 15601, where a funeral service will immediately follow at 11 AM with Pastor Scott Jones officiating. Interment will follow in Westmoreland County Memorial Park. The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at Mountain View Senior Living for the care given to Joseph.
