Mary Lou Vallano, 91, of Greensburg, died Saturday, September 11, 2021, in her home. She was born May 13, 1930, in Mutual, a daughter of the late John and Elizabeth (Harvan) Storkel. She was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Greensburg and the First Catholic Slovak Ladies Union of America. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred D. Vallano; her daughter, Diane Elizabeth Vallano; and four siblings, Elizabeth Zabkar, John Storkel, Agnes Thiess, and Josephine Kelly. She is survived by five children, Patrick J. Vallano, DMD, of Greensburg, Mary Lou Vallano-Grassl, PhD (Steven), of Syracuse, NY, Alfred D. Vallano, Jr. (Jeanne), of Canonsburg, Gary Vallano, MD (Donna), of Pittsburgh, and Anita Vallano-O’Brochta (Tom), of Greensburg; 20 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; her sister, Frances Panetti, of Greensburg; and several nieces and nephews. Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM Sunday at the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 516 Stanton Street, Greensburg. Prayers will begin at 9:30 AM Monday in the funeral home, followed by a funeral mass to be celebrated at 10 AM in Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Greensburg. Entombment will follow in Greensburg Catholic Cemetery. If you have a fever, cough, or have been exposed to anyone with these symptoms, please refrain from attending visitation and funeral services.
