Rosalie Patricia (Puskar) West, 82, of Greensburg, died Monday, September 26, 2022, in Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg, with her daughters at her side. She was born July 3, 1940, in Greensburg, a daughter of the late Joseph and Margaret Elizabeth (DeMaria) Puskar. “Rosie” as her old friends and family called her, made some impressive accomplishments as a teen and young woman. She was a precision landing skydiver, an avid swimmer, and a great roller skater. As a young working mother and wife, Rose managed to attend night classes at the University of Pittsburgh and graduated Magna Cum Laude with a B.S. in economics and political science. Prior to retirement, she worked as an executive administrative assistant at the American Institute of Research. As a lifelong learner, she was fascinated and curious of current events, history, and science. These were her favorite topics of discussions, and she would spend her free time locating articles she thought would interest her family and share with them. She inspired her children and grandchildren to always seek the truth and to expand their minds. Rose adored spending quality time with her family, looking up music from the past and current, often surprising her grandchildren with some of the latest tunes. Those were her happiest moments. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Joseph R. “Ronnie” Puskar; and her son-in-law, John T. Oplinger. She is survived by her daughters, Peggy Sue Puskar-Oplinger and Diana Turin (Scott Lamarre); three grandchildren, Carianne Turin (Tim Koltonski), Jacob Turin (Danielle Soltis), and Robert Turin; and one niece and two nephews. Friends will be received from 5 to 7 PM Friday at the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 516 Stanton Street, Greensburg where a celebration of life will begin at 6:30 PM. Private interment will be at Greensburg Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider memorial contribution to National Alliance of Mental Illness at donate.nami.org. www.bachafh.com
