Thomas E. Aukerman

Thomas E. Aukerman, 83, of Unity Township, died Sunday, October 2, 2022 at Excela Health Latrobe Hospital.  He was born September 11, 1939 in Latrobe, a son of the late Edward W. and Bessie E. (Crawford) Aukerman.  Prior to retirement Tom worked for the Laborers International Union of North America local 1451 and was a member of the Hostetter Slovak Club.  Tom enjoyed hunting, fishing and his dogs.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Karen L. (Stump) Aukerman and two sons, Thomas E. Aukerman, Jr. and Kevin E. Aukerman.  He is survived by his children, Laura Horner and husband Timothy of Unity Township, Clayton M. Aukerman and wife Cindy of Harrisburg, Rachel L. LaFleur of Latrobe and Elizabeth A. Palmer and husband Jeffrey of Ligonier Township, a number of grandchildren and great grandchildren and his friend, Shirley Lenhart.  At Tom’s request there will be no visitation or service.  Leo M. Bacha Funeral Home, Inc., Pleasant Unity, is assisting with arrangements.
