Frederick T. Swartz, 84, of Greensburg, died peacefully with his family by his side on Thursday, October 20, 2016 in Roanoke, VA.  He was born January 19, 1932 in Jeannette, a son of the late Thomas and Lillian (Franklin) Swartz.  Prior to retirement he was a nuclear engineer for Westinghouse Electric Co. at its Waltz Mill Facility.  He was a Navy veteran and a member of Hannastown Golf Club.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Verdane T. “Dane” Swartz. He is survived by his wife: Katherine J. “Kathy” (Mingo) Swartz; daughters, Tawnya and her husband, Eric Dee, of Greensburg, and Tabetha and her husband, Craig Hill, of Florida; daughter-in-law, Kimberly R. Swartz, of Greensburg; stepdaughter, Diane and her husband, Stefan Martin, of Whitehall; five grandchildren, John “J.D.”, Madison, Ian, Connor and Reece; sister, Joyce and her husband, Dr. Timothy Janeway, of Sewickley; and several nephews. Friends will be received from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 PM Monday at the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 516 Stanton Street, Greensburg where a funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM Tuesday.
