Yolanda L. "Lonnie" Vucina, 59, of Unity Township, died Monday, Jan. 1, 2018, at UPMC East Hospital, Monroeville. She was born June 11, 1958, in Latrobe, a daughter of the late Philip A. Baker and Helen L. (Shultz) Baker Frye. Lonnie worked at West Penn Power in Greensburg and previously worked 20 years at Kmart in Latrobe. She was a member of St. James Evangelical Lutheran Church, Youngstown, Unity Township American Legion Post 982 Auxiliary and was a member and past officer of the A.L.R. Women's Auxiliary. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Richard A. Baker; and her stepfather, Arthur B. Frye. She is survived by her husband, James P. Vucina; her son, Gregory P. Vucina and wife, Tiana, of Hempfield Township; two grandchildren, Hannah and Gavin Vucina; a brother, Dennis A. Baker and wife, Kathleen, of Murrysville; an uncle, Paul C. Robb, of Morgantown, W.Va.; an aunt, Beverly Williams and husband, Gerald, of Greensburg; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. A memorial service for family and close friends will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday in St. James Lutheran Church, 4329 Route 982, Youngstown, with Pastor Sarah Rossing officiating. Friends are invited to a celebration of her life that will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, Jan. 19, 2018, at American Legion Post 982. LEO M.
